I’ve always been interested in entrepreneurship. At school, I placed handwritten adverts in local newsagents to find work as a tutor – my first experience of customer acquisition. The profits paid for a cycling trip around Europe and travels to China.
After working in strategy consulting, I sought a purpose-driven challenge so I moved to Mumbai to work with social enterprises. Projects were complex as clients sought both profit and impact. To drive change in this environment, I learned to identify and address the mission-critical issues.
In 2019 I joined an impact investment fund, covering South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. My toughest experience was supporting hospital chains during the covid pandemic. I saw first-hand how senior managers and doctors galvanised their teams to deliver quality care despite high patient numbers. These leaders saved lives, and their business.
At Blixt, I enjoy working as part of a small team that thinks deeply and moves quickly. I have particularly relished the range of situations that we consider, from executing complicated carve-outs to disrupting old industries.
Outside of work, I am a trustee of a mental health charity and a member of an angel investor syndicate. Most importantly, I am the proud partner of a rock-climber who moonlights as a design researcher.
